Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1/4 cup cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup boiling water
For the icing:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup whole milk
3 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:
1- Preheat the oven to 350F (180C). Grease and flour a large baking sheet (12×18 inches)
2- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3- In a separate mixing bowl, beat the buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract together until well combined.
4- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
5- Stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
6- Pour the batter into the prepared baking sheet and smooth out the top.
7- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
8- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before removing the cake from the pan and placing it on a wire rack to cool completely.
9- To make the icing, in a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the cocoa powder and milk. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 1-2 minutes.
10- Remove from the heat and stir in the powdered sugar and vanilla extract until the icing is smooth and glossy.
11- Pour the icing over the cooled cake, spreading it evenly over the top.
12- Let the icing set for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
