Healthy Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (gluten-free if needed)

1 cup granulated sweetener of your choice (*see notes for options)

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

6 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce

1 cup water

Let’s Get Baking!

1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 180C/350F. Line an 8-inch springform pan with parchment paper and set it aside, ready for your baking adventure!

2️⃣ In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sweetener, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix everything well to ensure all the flavors blend harmoniously.

3️⃣ Now, it’s time to add some magic! Stir in the apple cider vinegar, vanilla extract, and unsweetened applesauce. Mix everything until you have a smooth and velvety cake batter.

4️⃣ Pour the water over the top and mix again until all the ingredients are fully combined, creating a rich and delectable cake batter.

5️⃣ Transfer this delightful mixture into the lined pan, spreading it evenly, and get ready for the magic to happen in the oven!

6️⃣ Bake your cake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer comes out just clean, indicating it’s perfectly baked and ready to be enjoyed!

7️⃣ Take your scrumptious creation out of the oven, but hold on for just a little longer! Let it cool in the cake pan for 10 minutes, and then, with all the patience you can muster, carefully transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

8️⃣ Once the cake is cool, it’s time to frost, if desired! Add your favorite frosting, or perhaps a light dusting of powdered sugar, to enhance the experience.
