brownie recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter

1 cup (200g) granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/3 cup (40g) unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9×9-inch (23×23 cm) baking pan and line it with parchment paper.

2. Melt the butter in a microwave or on the stovetop. Let it cool slightly.

3. Mix the wet ingredients: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

4. Add dry ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gently fold the mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.

5. Optional: Stir in chocolate chips for extra richness.

6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

7. Cool: Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing into squares.
