No-bake cold cake: the recipe for a fresh and delicious dessert with biscuits and chocolate

The no-bake cold cake is a fresh and delicious dessert , perfect for hot summer days because it does not require the use of an oven and stove. A crunchy base, prepared with crumbled biscuits, butter, sugar and cocoa, is garnished with a soft and creamy chocolate topping . A simple and irresistible dessert that will remind you of the classic chocolate salami , but without eggs and in a cake version. Perfect to be enjoyed as a snack or after-meal dessert , it can be made several hours in advance, so as to have it ready at the right time. If you like, you can enrich the dough with chocolate chips or chopped dried fruit, while you can replace the dark chocolate with the white one, for a final result with an elegant chromatic contrast. How to prepare no-bake cold cake

Step 1

Collect the dry biscuits in a large bowl and crumble them with your hands until you get 1-2 cm pieces1.

Add the bitter cocoa, sugar and melted butter2.

Stir to mix all the ingredients well3.

Distribute the compound obtained in an 18 cm diameter opening circle mold, leveling well with the back of a spoon4. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a bain-marie, add the cream and pour the topping on the biscuit base5.

Distribute it evenly, gently swirling the pan, then let it harden in the refrigerator for another hour6.

Advice

The base of the no-bake cold cake can be made with all types of biscuits , even shortbread with cocoa or with fillings. You can add chopped dried fruit or flavor with rum or whiskey if you prefer.
