Almond Chocolate Layer Cake with Cream Filling

Ingredients:

For the cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup hot water

For the cream filling:

2 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

For topping:

1 cup sliced almonds

1/4 cup chocolate shavings

Instructions:

1. Prepare the cake:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix well.

Slowly add hot water and stir until smooth (the batter will be thin).

Pour into a greased cake pan.

Bake for 30–35 minutes. Let it cool completely.

2. Prepare the cream:

In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream.

Add powdered sugar and vanilla.

Beat until soft peaks form.

3. Assemble the cake:

Cut the cake into 2–3 layers.

Spread cream between each layer.

Cover the top and sides with the remaining cream.

4. Decorate:

Sprinkle sliced almonds and chocolate shavings on top.

Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour before serving.

😋 Tip:

For extra flavor, you can brush each cake layer with a little coffee or milk before adding the cream.
